Choose who the journal is for
Open Steady Meadow and choose Make it mine. Select For me for your own record, or For a child I support when an adult organizes one child’s journal. Add an optional first name or nickname.
You can also choose Explore with sample entries. The labeled temporary preview lets you look around without Health access. Exit the preview to return to personal records. Sample data is not sent to your real Watch.
Choose a starting point
Templates adapt prompts, suggested tools, and recording choices. Choose FND, anxiety and worry, panic support, sensory overwhelm, or everyday wellbeing. You can change the template later; previous records retain their original context.
A template is an organizational choice, not a diagnosis or a treatment recommendation.
Save a first check-in
- From Today, choose Check in.
- Record how things feel and add context or a small highlight if you want to.
- Save, then open Journal to review the entry.
There is no need to fill every day. In Patterns and reports, missing entries mean unknown, not symptom-free.
Write a support plan
In Care, record the steps agreed with your care team, what helps, what you prefer to avoid, emergency instructions, and a trusted contact. Keep appointment questions for the next conversation.
The normally paired Watch receives a limited copy of the saved plan after the devices communicate. Support steps, avoidances, emergency instructions, and contact details can remain available offline. Appointment questions and phone check-in notes stay on the phone.
Adding a contact does not notify them. Support now displays your saved instructions; it does not call for help.
Keep parent and child records separate
Parent mode disables new imports from the adult phone’s Health store. It does not create a second journal, remove records already imported, or determine whose readings exist in a shared Watch Health store.
Use one wearer per journal. Do not switch the same journal between a parent and a child as if switching accounts. If Health history may be mixed, leave the app’s Health access off and use the notes and support tools.
Apple recommends separate Apple Accounts for separate people. That account separation is distinct from this app’s modes. The current app does not support Family Setup transfer. Read Apple’s account guidance.
Choose permissions deliberately
Health access is optional. The app only reads the records you permit; it does not write to Apple Health, activate the heart-rate sensor, or promise a new reading. The phone journal, support plan, and mindful pause work without this permission.
On the Watch, choose Connect Apple Health to request local read access. In solo mode, optional phone access is available from Settings. A completed permission screen does not prove every data type is available.
